Local Veterans to be Honored by County Executive at Second Annual Military Awareness Day

May 30, 2019

Since its inception, Albany County has had a proud history of its residents serving our state and country. From the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror, thousands of Albany County residents have put their lives on the line for their community, and they deserve to know that their service has not gone unnoticed. Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will recognize three exceptional individuals who have bravely served our country.

Join County Executive McCoy for his biannual Honor a Living Veteran ceremony as he honors Terrence L. Kindlon, Eugene “Gene” Loparco, and Nils Edward Mockler on Tuesday, June 11 at 10:00am at Crossgates Mall (on the first floor near Lord & Taylor) to show your support for local veterans who continue to serve their communities.

This will be the 12th such event County Executive McCoy has hosted since 2013, having honored some 35 veterans in the process, and will coincide with the Second Annual Capital Region Military Awareness Day. The Military Expo and Job Fair is done in partnership with the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce, Crossgates Mall, Excelsior College, SEFCU, Inova, JDOG Junk Removal & Hauling, Community Resource Federal Credit Union, the Veteran Connect Center and the Albany County Veterans Service Bureau.
