Committee Assignments: Law, Social Services and Public Safety

Richard Jacobson was elected to his first term in the Albany County Legislature's 23rd District in the November 2011 election. The district encompasses parts of the Village of Colonie, north of Barker Street, Hunting Road and Sand Creek Roads, extending to an area of the Town of Colonie north of Albany Shaker Rd. between Osborne Rd. and the Northway.

Richard is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Siena College (BA), SUNY, Albany (MA), and the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He is currently in private practice and also employed as an attorney by the New York State Senate. He also has served for six years as an assistant public defender for Albany County.
