Peter R. Crouse is serving his second term as an Albany County Legislator, representing the 24th Legislative District which falls entirely within the Town of Colonie. The district is comprised of the area south of Albany-Shaker Road, west of Osborn Road, north of Central Ave and east of Wolf Road including the Beltrone Center.

Peter is the sole proprietor of Peter R. Crouse Consultants, providing advocacy services for clients before NYS Government. He previously was Director of Government Relations for the firm of Davidoff, Hutcher and Citron, and led the firm's government advocacy efforts based in the state capital. He is also President of Green Thumb Environmental Beautification Inc., a senior citizen employment program. He currently serves as a board member of the Dollars for Scholars program in the South Colonie School District. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Northeast Kidney Foundation and as a board member of the Shaker Heritage Society.

Peter has also served as a member of the Town of Colonie Zoning Board of Appeals, the town's Sign Review Board, and as a Deputy Board Member of the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority, which is charged with managing the winter sports facilities at Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain and Gore Mountain.

His professional experience also includes his service as Executive Director of the New York State Senate Environmental Conservation Committee and as a Senior Budget Analyst of the NYS Senate Finance Committee.

Peter earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship at Syracuse University where he also earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

He and his wife Kathleen are 40-year residents of the Town of Colonie, where they have raised their three grown children.
