Crime Victim And Sexual Violence Center Volunteer Program
Volunteers are needed to staff the 24 hour rape crisis hotline, to accompany rape victims to area hospital emergency rooms and police stations, and to advocate for victims of violent crime in court.
 
Volunteer Opportunities to Help Seniors and the Community

Many of the programs offered by the senior centers and service agencies and supported by Albany County Department for Aging, are made possible by volunteers who generously donate their time to help seniors. We are happy to provide a list of organizations you can contact to offer your time.

 
ACTIV: Albany County Together in Volunteerism

Albany County has begun recruiting and referring volunteers; providing support and coordination of volunteer programs in Albany County government departments; working with non-profit organizations and public educational institutions to strengthen community based volunteer programs; and recognizing and encouraging volunteerism among Albany County Residents.

 
Senior Community Services Employment Program

Through the Senior Community Services Employment Program, the Albany County Department for Aging helps match mature workers with local employment opportunities.

 
Second Careers

Second Careers is a free employment referral service for seniors, 60 years and older, who do not qualify for the means tested Senior Community Service Employment Program.
