Honor A Veteran

James M. Kulzer, US Army

1941 - 2011

The Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated the life of James M. Kulzer at a ceremony held April 2, 2012.

James M. Kulzer was born in Albany, New York on October 16, 1941. He enlisted in the US Army in 1967 and became a Specialist 5 with the famed 69th Armor attached to the 4th Infantry Division during the TET Offensive. James was trained as a Tanker and took part in some of the fiercest fighting of the Vietnam War. His tank hit a land mine. James was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with two overseas bars, National Defense Service Medal and Army Accommodation Medal.

After his service, James was a driver for Nagengast Florist for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sheehy-Palmer VFW Post 6776, Tri-County Vietnam Veterans and the DAV.

The Honor-A-Veteran ceremony is held the first Monday of every month to honor a deceased veteran of the community.
