Honor A Veteran

Thomas W. "Sarge" Spaulding, US Army

Albany County Executive Mike Breslin, Congressman Paul Tonko and the Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated veteran Thomas W. "Sarge" Spaulding at a ceremony on Monday, June 7, 2010 at the American Legion Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520 in Albany.

Thomas W. "Sarge" Spaulding was born in 1939 in Port Chester, New York. Spaulding served in the United States Army from 1956-1964.

After returning home from his service, Spaulding was a driver for Surpass Chemical Co. of Menands. He continued his commitment to our nation's armed forces while a civilian as a life member of the American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskill and the Tri County Council of Vietnam Era Veterans. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the Military Vehicle Preservation Association and the Bailey Mountain Fish and Game Club of Wynantskill.

The Honor-A-Veteran ceremony is held every first Monday of the month to honor a deceased veteran of the community.
