Honor A VeteranAlbany County Honors World War II Veteran James C. FarrellAlbany County Executive Mike Breslin and the Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated World War II veteran James C. Farrell. A ceremony was held on Monday, July 7, 2003, in the Cahill Room of the Albany County Office Building. Farrell, a native of Albany, enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and served during World War II until his discharge in 1946. He served as a medical technician in a field hospital in England during the war. Farrell was a longtime employee of the United State Postal Service and was very active in the veteran community. He was a member of the Sheehy-Palmer Post VFW Post and the Zaloga American Legion Post, a member and past Commander of the Beverwyck American Legion Post #1756, past Commander of the Albany County American Legion, past Master at Arms of the New York State American Legion and served as the Albany County American Legion Membership Chairman for many years.
