Honor A Veteran

Albany County Honors World War II Veteran Charles P. Mailloux

Albany County Executive Mike Breslin, Congressman Michael McNulty and the Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated World War II veteran Charles P. Mailloux, Sr. at a ceremony on December 3, 2007, in Albany.

Mailloux was born in Cohoes on June 23, 1921, and enlisted in the United States Army in 1940. Mailloux served in campaigns in Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Germany and Aachen. For his distinguished service, Mailloux received several medals including a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and a Good Conduct Medal.

The Honor-A-Veteran ceremony is held every first Monday of the month to honor a deceased veteran of the community.
