Honor A Veteran

Albany County Honors World War II Veteran John A. Houle

Albany County Executive Mike Breslin, Congressman Michael McNulty and the Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated World War II veteran John A. Houle at a ceremony on September 4, 2007, in Albany.

Houle was born on December 14, 1927 and was a longtime resident of Albany. He served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army from January 1946 to February 1947. Houle received the World War II Victory Medal for his service.

Houle was the owner of E&J Dry Cleaning and worked for Penn Central and Conrail until his retirement in 1989. He was a longtime member of the Watervliet Elks.

The Honor-A-Veteran ceremony is held every month to honor a deceased veteran of the community.
