Honor A VeteranAlbany County Honors Korean War Veteran Arthur EaganAlbany County Executive Mike Breslin and the Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated Korean War veteran Arthur H. Eagan at a ceremony on Monday, November 7, 2005, in the Cahill Room of the County Office Building at 112 State St. in Albany. Arthur H. Eagan was a lifelong resident of Albany and graduated from Cathedral Academy and Siena College. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a pilot on an aircraft carrier. After receiving a medical discharge from the Navy, Arthur returned to Albany and earned his master's degree in social work from the University at Albany. He worked first as a caseworker for the Albany County Department of Social Services in child protective services and later become director of staff development, retiring after 33 years of service. Arthur also served as a deacon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for 22 years. He was a member of the first class of 21 deacons ordained by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany in 1976.
