Albany County Partners with Soldier OnOn November 11 2012, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy announced the creation of a new Albany County Veterans Resource Center at 55 Heritage Lane in Colonie. The Center is the result of the County's partnership with Soldier On, an organization that provides transitional housing and support services to veterans.

The Albany County Veterans Service Bureau—along with other veterans agencies throughout the county—is instrumental in obtaining thousands of dollars annually from the Federal Government due to claims that are filed, submitted and approved by the NYS Regional Office in New York City.
