Industrial Pretreatment Program

The primary function of the Industrial Pretreatment Program is to maintain State and Federal compliance and prevent any upset or interference to the District’s North and South Plants, while aiding in the economic development of the District’s eight member communities. 

 
Interceptor Sewers

The District owns and maintains two interceptor sewers and one trunk sewer.

 
Member Communities

The Albany County Sewer District owns and operates two wastewater treatment facilities, designated North and South, which provide secondary treatment to the wastewater of eight communities in Albany County.

 
NYWEA R. Paul Farrell, Jr. Scholarship

The Capital Chapter of NYWEA is offering two awards of $500.00 to be paid directly to students enrolled in an environmental related curriculum at the undergraduate level.

 
Wastewater Treatment Plant Tours

Tours are given each year by the Albany County Sewer District to numerous levels of education which include middle school students to graduate environmental engineering classes.

Sewer District Partners with the NYWEA at Science Fair

A science fair was held at the Milton Terrace Primary School in Ballston Spa. Sewer District Executive Director Rich Lyons was there to provide a wastewater treatment demonstration for the school's K–5 students.
