Clinical Programming and ServicesFood and NutritionAll facility meals and menus are planned by a registered dietitian to ensure they meet the nutritional and dietary needs of each patient or resident. When patients or residents require specialized diets and nutritional consideration, registered dietitians and diet technicians collaborate with the attending physician and nursing staff to ensure those needs are met. The individual preferences of each patient or resident are considered and menu substitutions are available at every meal. Snack and beverage service is also offered throughout each day. Each patient or resident's nutritional status is evaluated by a registered dietitian, and daily meal programming is overseen by dietary technicians. Food from Outside Sources Federal regulation dictates that any food served to a resident or patient of a nursing home must be prepared in a kitchen that undergoes a government-approved inspection. Therefore, food brought in from outside sources is prohibited with two specific exceptions:
We also strongly encourage that any food brought to a resident or ordered by a resident be able to be consumed in one sitting. We cannot always provide storage for leftovers, and any leftovers may be discarded.
