Activities and Therapeutic Recreation

Albany County Nursing Home is fully committed to offering our residents and patients a social environment that provides a milieu of both diversional and therapeutic activity.

Our activity department is richly staffed, with an activity assistant assigned to each unit. Each nursing unit has its own individually planned activities unique to the residents of that unit.

In addition, facility-wide activities are held daily, from morning through evening.

Our activity department also plans and organizes a number of special events throughout the year for the sheer entertainment of our residents, including: Resident Appreciation Day; an old-fashioned carnival complete with midway; a Halloween haunted house; a National Nursing Home Week celebration with a 50's sock hop; and performances by the Albany County Staff Choir.
