Timothy D. Nichols, 20th Legislative DistrictTimothy D. Nichols was elected in 2007 to his third term in the Albany County Legislature to represent residents of the 20th District in the Town of Colonie. He formerly served as the District's County Legislator from 2004-2007 and from 1993-1996 during which he was a member of the committee whose work led to the creation of the Albany County Airport Authority.

The district encompasses the northeastern portion of Colonie and includes Riviera Estates, Omega Terrace, Boght Corners and the Forts Ferry Road and Sparrowbush Road neighborhoods.

Tim is Deputy Chair of the Social Services and a member of the Health Committee. He previously served on the Public Works and Conservation and Improvement Committees.

Tim is Chief of Staff to State Assemblyman Bob Reilly. Previously he served as Director of Government Affairs for the American Lung Association of New York State for nearly eight years, as legislative director for the New York Assembly and as a health care policy analyst for the New York Association of Health Plans.

A graduate of Shaker High School, Tim holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University at Albany's Rockefeller School of Public Affairs and Public Policy.

A lifelong Latham resident, Tim is active in his community. He is an officer of the Riviera Estates Homeowners Association and a member of the Knights of Pythias

Tim and his wife, Marlis, have two children, Sam and Erin.
