James B. Crucetti, M.D., M.P.H.In 1992 Dr. James B. Crucetti was appointed as Commissioner of Health for Albany County and he presently serves in that position. He joined the staff of the Albany County Department of Health in 1989 as Deputy Commissioner and directed programs in Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention and Health Education. Dr. Crucetti is a board-certified physician in the specialty of Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. He received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate medical training at the Johns Hopkins University where he also received a Master's degree in Public Health. Dr. Crucetti is an alumnus of the national Public Health Leadership Institute sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is a member of the national Public Health Leadership Society. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. Dr. Crucetti is also a former National Health Service Corps physician and worked as a general medical doctor in an under-served rural community in central Arkansas. He is a member of many professional associations and committees. Outside of work at the Health Department, Dr. Crucetti enjoys playing tennis on a men's singles ladder and in a World Team Tennis league. His favorite pastime is spending time with his wife and two daughters.
