Albany County is a great place to do business!

Check out Albany County industrial, manufacturing and business-zoned properties online. Albany County offers a wide variety of locations for businesses including sophisticated urban space, high-tech research facilities and full service distribution centers.

To make site selection easier, Albany County’s Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning gathered an inventory of high-potential locations -- with and without existing facilities. We then coordinated with New York State’s Economic Development team to create a database of available properties containing detailed information about each site, including photos,  maps, utility services and other important specifications.

  • Sites and Buildings Data - Sites and buildings data in this application is provided in partnership with State agencies, regional and local economic development organizations, utility companies, commercial realtors and other economic development professionals. Although the information contained in this application has been provided by sources we believe to be reliable, Albany County and Empire State Development make no representation or warranties, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the information. • Additional Layers - Additional map layers included in SiteFinder, their source and approximate dates of currency are listed below. Unless otherwise noted, the attribute data displayed for these layers was obtained either directly from the New York State agencies identified or via the New York State GIS Clearinghouse.

  • Notes on Geocoding - The SiteFinder sites and buildings, as well as structures in several of the extra layers, were located geographically by the process of geocoding - specifically, by a type of geocoding known as address matching. Software is used to assign geographic coordinates to records in a file. This is accomplished using a process of matching addresses to an address dictionary, which already contains the geographic component. This process is widely used and accepted in the field of GIS, but it is an imperfect science. Unfortunately, the address dictionaries available at this time contain many errors and omissions, and even when the data is complete, the best result that can be obtained is only accurate to a certain segment of street. In addition, the geocoding software and human users also can introduce error. Because of these factors, there will inevitably be buildings located incorrectly or left out because a match could not be found.
