County Route 156 Fuller Road Reconstruction ProjectThis project will reconstruct 1.7 miles of Fuller Road in the Towns of Guilderland and Colonie and the City of Albany between State Route 5 (Central Avenue) and U.S. 20 (Western Avenue). The project includes reconstructing the pavement, installing new curbing and sidewalks, and improving drainage, bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The Town of Guilderland water line is also being replaced along Fuller Road as part of the project, saving the Town approximately $60,000. The Fuller Road Reconstruction project will be completed in two phases. Construction began in April 2010 on the southern section, between Western and Tricentennial Drive, and will be completed in November 2010. Construction will begin in April 2011 on the northern section between I-90 Exit 2 and Central Avenue and will be completed by November 2011. The total cost of the project is $13.5 million, which is being financed through County bond issue. The intersection of Fuller Road and Washington Avenue Extension will also be reconstructed. For information on the intersection project please see our project page HERE. A public information meeting was held on May 8, 2008. County staff and designers were at the meeting to answer questions and receive comments. The presentation from this public meeting is below. All documents are in PDF* format.
