The Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center Volunteer Program

Crime victims in Albany County could use your help!

Volunteers are needed to staff the 24-hour rape crisis hotline, to accompany rape victims to area hospital emergency rooms and police stations, and to advocate for victims of violent crime in court.

The Center offers training classes for both hotline volunteers and volunteer court advocates.

Court Advocate Volunteer

Comprehensive Crime Victim Assistance Program Volunteer Court Advocates are trained in the workings of the criminal justice system and the emotional issues surrounding victimization.

 
Hotline Volunteer

Hotline volunteers staff the 24-hour rape crisis hotline, and accompany rape victims to area hospitals and police stations.

 
Office Volunteer

Office volunteers assist in the every-day functioning of the Center's office.
