RECORDING FEES (Includes Cover Page fee of $5 eff. 3/16/2009)
For recording any instrument required by statute to be recorded, FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS and, in addition thereto, FIVE DOLLARS for each page or portion of a page to be recorded. FIFTY CENTS for each cross reference.

An Assignment of Mortgage which assigns more than one mortgage, there shall be an additional fee of three dollars for every Mortgage assigned. For each additional Mortgage satisfied on one document, the fee will be the full price of recording one Satisfaction.

UCC - Uniform Commercial Code / Federal Tax Liens

Only UCC filings where collateral is AFFIXED TO REAL PROPERTY can be accepted by the County Clerk’s office after July 1, 2001. ALL OTHER UCC FILINGS (INCLUDING amendments, releases, and assignments of UCCs previously filed in the County Clerks office) MUST be filed with the NYS Department of State.

The following fees have been established for UCC and federal tax lien filings in County Clerk offices within New York State by the New York State Department of State, effective April 1, 2003:

  • Fee for Filing any UCC document $40.00
  • Fee to search for UCC filing under one specific debtor $25.00
  • Uncertified copy of any UCC document $5.00
  • Certified copy of each UCC document $10.00

    NOTE: The above UCC fees also apply to federal tax liens.

SPECIAL UCC REQUIREMENTS IN ALBANY COUNTY:

  • Please send the original UCC document plus two(2) copies. Our filing system requires that box 6 must show the name and address of the debtor and box 9 the secured party.

The Albany County Clerk's office is unable to accept electronic filing of UCC forms at this time.

Passports

  • 16 and older (Adult) $75.00 [Check or money order ONLY]

  • PLUS Execution fee for each passport $25.00 [Cash ONLY]

OTHER REQUIREMENTS EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 1987

1. Any deed that mentions “map” or “survey” MUST be filed simultaneously (if not already filed).
2. All personal checks MUST have the name and telephone number of the Attorney or Title Company on the reverse.
3. Checks for recording fee must be for the exact amount.
4. If a transaction involves a Satisfaction of Mortgage, a SEPARATE check for such Satisfaction must be presented.
5. Record and Return information should be on a page that is to be recorded. If not, an additional $5.00 will be charged and the Record and Return will be recorded.

No paper in an action in the Supreme and County Court, other than an order submitted for signature to a Judge out of court, shall be submitted for any purpose in the Supreme or County Court or to a clerk thereof, unless there is endorsed on such paper, the INDEX NUMBER of the action, assigned by the clerk of the court. (8018(c) CPLR.)
