Albany County to Recognize Combat Medic Posthumously for His Public Service & Service to Our Country

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy is continuing our celebration of Black History Month by honoring Charles Chandler, who dedicated his life to public service, as the February Honor-A-Veteran. Chandler was the uncle of Albany County Alternate Public Defender, Sherri Brooks, and worked at the Albany Veterans Hospital when he was only 20 years old before being drafted into the United States Army. He was a courageous man who died in Vietnam, serving our country with great honor.

The Albany County Honor-A-Veteran Ceremony will be held at on Monday, February 4 at 8:30 a.m. at the North Albany American Legion Post #1610, 35 North First Street, Albany, NY 12204.

Albany County honors a deceased veteran for their service to our country and our county. The ceremony is held the first Monday of each month.
