Cub Scouts Pack 272 Opening Campfire of 2017-18 Season

Cub Scout Pack 272 from Slingerlands, led by Peter Barkman held their Opening Campfire at Lawson Lake. It kicked off the year as new Cub Scouts were welcomed. 

The weekend was filled with cookouts, skits and storytelling. More than half of the families stayed and camped out at Lawson Lake. 

Charlie Tobin and Liam Shekhter received the prestigious Cub Scout Outdoor Activity awards for their efforts over the summer. Scott Mathias was honored for accepting the role of Tiger Scout Leader.

The staff at Lawson Lake is honored to be a part their opening campfire weekend and looks forward to more events with the scouts!

Open year round to the public for bird watching, cross country skiing, fishing, hiking, ice fishing, nature study, picnicking, snowshoeing and the use of canoes and portable cartop watercraft.
