Rev. Anthony R. Sidoti, US Army

1914-2004

The Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated the life of Rev. Anthony R. Sidoti. at a ceremony held January 6, 2014 at the Zaloga Post in Albany. A video of this ceremony is available.

Reverand Anthony R. Sidoti was born in Amsterdam, NY, on June 14, 1914. Rev. Sidoti served as a chaplain in the US Army from 1942-1946. He saw combat in Europe and received numerous commendations including a Silver Star and Purple Heart.

Sidoti was associate pastor at St. Anthony’s Parish in Albany from 1948-1963, named administrator in 1963 and then pastor from 1966-1970. He later served as the pastor of St. James Parish in Albany from 1970 until his retirement in 1990.

He was the first director of the Bishop’s fund and served as director from 1955-1966. He was appointed Diocesan Consultor from 1969-1970 and Division Chaplain for the 27th Infantry Division of the New York Army National Guard in 1957. He was promoted to colonel in the NY Army National Guard and served in the capacity of the staff chaplain for the entire State of New York Army National Guard

Frank E. Mock, US Navy

1925-1996

The Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated the life of Frank E. Mock at a ceremony held February 3, 2014 at the Zaloga Post in Albany. Video highlights of the ceremony are available.

Frank E. Mock was born March 18, 1925 in Albany, NY.

He served in the US Navy from February 4, 1943 to January 22, 1946 and participated in operations off Wake, Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Leyte, Majuro, Wotje, Kwajalein and Okinawa. Mock was rewarded with the American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.

After his service in the war, Mock became a dedicated member of the American Legion and Lady of Mercy Church.

Frank had many beloved friends and family who miss him dearly.

John T. Tucker, US Army

1925-2013

The Honor-A-Veteran Committee commemorated the life of John T. Tucker at a ceremony held March 3, 2014 at the Zaloga Post in Albany.

John T. Tucker served in the US Army from September 1943 through January 1946.

Tucker was award leader in the South End in the 1960s and '70s. He served in the Albany County Legislature representing the 2nd Legislative District from 1980-84. He worked for US Postal Service, was a partner with Rick Crenshaw of Pat and Rick’s Market at Elizabeth and Osborne streets and owned of Dell’s Tavern at Elizabeth and Delaware Avenue.
